Answer: Because we specialize in "curated hodgepodge," many of our treasures are pre-loved and full of character! We patiently forage to find unique unusuals, vintage keepsakes, and timeless finds in excellent, working condition. Any significant wear, minor imperfections, or notable history will always be clearly detailed and photographed in the product listing, so you know exactly what you've stumbled upon. We aim for delightful, one-of-a-kind quality! (Note: If an item's condition in the description does not say, "New with Tags" or "New without Tags", then you can assume it has been a part of someone's story.)

Question: How does the "Stumbled Upon Requests" service work?

Answer: This is my favorite part! If you are looking for a specific, hard-to-find unusual (like a certain style of Rae Dunn mug, a vintage board game piece, or a distinct book), you can use our "Ask the Forager" form. Share the details (and a photo if you have one!), and I will relentlessly hunt for it on my weekly wanders. There is no obligation to purchase, but I will give you first dibs if I'm lucky enough to stumble upon your treasure! Please note that some hunts take more patience than others!

Question: How do you ship such a wide variety of "Stumbled Upon" items?

Answer: We take great care in getting your discoveries to you safely! Because our inventory ranges from strategy games to delicate china, we use specific, protective packaging tailored to each treasure. Everything is wrapped, boxed securely, and insured. We always strive to use recycled and sustainable materials whenever possible to minimize our impact on the "forest floor." You will receive a tracking number as soon as your order has been expertly packed and purposefully sent.

Question: Where do you find all these unique treasures? Are they authentic?

Answer: I trek the forest far and wide! I personally source all our items from yard sales, charity shops, local markets, and even individual collectors. My primary focus is on the unique, the unusual, and the high-quality, not just a brand name. I use my eye for detail to carefully select pieces with a genuine story. While I am not a certified appraiser, I do my best to verify the authenticity and condition of all vintage and name-brand items before they make it to the shop.

Question: What is your return policy for unique, one-of-a-kind items?

Answer: Our "Discoveries Daily" means that once an item is gone, it’s gone! Because our items are unique, all sales are considered final. However, we want you to be absolutely delighted with what you’ve stumbled upon. If your item arrives damaged in shipping or if there is a significant, undisclosed issue with its condition, please contact us at stumbledupontreasures@gmail.com within 3 days of delivery, and we will do our best to make it right, whether through a refund or shop credit.

Question: When do you add new items to the shop?

Answer: We love a fresh find! We schedule dedicated New Discovery Drop Days every week (our favorites are Tuesdays!). By dropping a curated collection all at once across all our eclectic categories, we ensure there is always something unique for everyone to stumble upon. Because everything we find is one-of-a-kind, we recommend checking in early on Drop Day! Once a treasure is gone, it’s truly gone!

Question: Do you offer sales or discounts?

Answer: While we don't often run general, site-wide sales (our treasures are unique!), we love our regular foragers. 🌿 The very best way to access exclusive, hidden finds and our occasional, themed discount is by joining our email list.
